G.F Job Limited are a highlands based company with a head office in Nairn with rock and sand and gravel quarries located in the Aviemore area. Formed in 1990 the business has significantly and successfully grown over the years as a result of a reputation and strong identity having been developed for quality combined with an ability to take on the more challenging and specialised projects throughout the highlands.
The core civil engineering business is supported by our heavy haulage and quarry operations complete with an extensive range of heavy earth moving and light plant, all of which can be tailored to suit our customers needs with a wide range of specialist hydraulic and mechanical attachments. The operated excavator fleet ranges from 1.5 tonne to 35 tonne with both tracked and wheeled versions being available. In addition the company operate 25 tonne dump trucks, dozers, wheeled shovels and a grader. To cater for specialist civil engineering projects which may be some distance from quarry markets, our in-house quarrying experience combined with our fully mobile crushers and screens enable us to provide vital construction materials by way of onsite borrow pits.
A recent development by the company has seen an expertise built up in the field of contaminated land remediation and recycling. This has been on the back of the extensive work the company have been involved in at the former McDemotts oil fabrication yard which has returned to its original name of Whiteness.
Our workforce of 70 employees are being continually being developed and trained to improve and increase skills, safety awareness, knowledge and experience to produce an increasingly competent team able to meet the challenges set by the company’s customers and strategic goals.
Our customer base consists of both large and small construction companies including: Tulloch Homes, Scotia Homes, Chap Homes, Morrison Construction, Robertson’s and McGregor Construction. With our formally acredited association with Network Rails Link-up approved contractors scheme, our client base also includes extensive experience with Network Rails main contractors in the north such as Carillion. To add to our successful client and contract portfolio GF Job have recently completed a number of the Restoration contracts at the Inverness Longman Landfill Site. These projects have been secured as part of a highly successful partnership contract with The Highland Council Technical Services.
With regards to the type of projects and sub contract work carried out by the company G.F. Job have a wide range of experience and expertise to offer within the earth moving, civil engineering remediation/recycling and heavy haulage sectors. The following list of projects provides an insight of our recent contracts:
2008/9 - 1.5km of rock armour protection of the sea shore of the former Longman Landfill site in Inverness. Site infrastructure works for key housing development throughout the area including: Phase 1 & 2 Auldearn, Leachkin Brae in Inverness, Broomhill development in Muir of Ord.
Ongoing - harbour works and coastal protection projects for the Highland and Moray Councils.
2007/10 - Demolition and land remediation work for the re-development of the former oil fabrication yard near Ardersier.
